Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 September 2026
This policy explains what bicmarkers.com collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
bicmarkers.com is an independent product review publication. Contact: privacy@bicmarkers.com.
What we collect
Automatically, when you visit:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Pages viewed, time on page, referring site | To see which reviews are useful |
| Approximate location (country/region, from IP) | To show the right currency and retailer |
| Device type, browser, screen size | To fix layout problems |
We do not collect your name, address, or payment details. We never see your card. Purchases happen entirely on the retailer’s site.
If you contact us: your email address and whatever you write to us. We keep it only as long as needed to answer you.
Cookies
| Type | Purpose | Can you refuse? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Remembering your cookie choice and display preferences | No — the site needs them |
| Analytics | Aggregate traffic measurement | Yes |
| Affiliate | Amazon sets a cookie when you click a product link, so it can attribute a purchase to us | Yes |
The affiliate cookie is how we get paid. It records that you arrived from this site. It does not tell us who you are or what you bought — we see only anonymised totals.
You can refuse non-essential cookies from the banner, or block all cookies in your browser. The site works either way; only the affiliate attribution stops.
Third parties
Clicking a product link takes you to a third-party retailer, usually Amazon. Once you leave this site, their privacy policy governs, not ours. We recommend reading Amazon’s.
We use an analytics provider to measure traffic in aggregate. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to anyone, for any purpose.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct it if it is wrong
- Delete it
- Object to processing, or ask us to restrict it
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell data, so this is already the case
- Port your data to another service
To exercise any of these, email privacy@bicmarkers.com. We respond within 30 days and never charge for it.
Under GDPR our lawful bases are legitimate interest (running and improving the site) and consent (analytics and affiliate cookies).
Children
This site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email privacy@bicmarkers.com and we will delete it.
Data retention and security
Analytics data is retained in aggregate for 26 months, then deleted. Emails you send us are kept for 24 months. The site is served over HTTPS.
Changes
We will update the date at the top when this policy changes. Material changes will be announced on the site.
